The Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen announced via Twitter that Hyundai and Kia will be assembling their plants in Ghana in 2022, only a few weeks after Twitter set up its African office in the country.

Blue-chip companies are beginning to pay more attention to the market opportunities that are available in the African continent for their businesses, causing them to open offices within different African countries.

Although other automobile companies like Toyota, Nissan, Volkswagen already have plants in Ghana, Hyundai and Kia’s new plants are great news for the Ghanian labor market.

This is because they will contribute to the Ghanian Auto Development Program which aims at creating over 6,600 manufacturing part jobs in Ghana, significantly reducing the nation’s unemployment deficiency.
