On June 13th, 2021, The CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, took to Twitter to announce that his electric automobile company, Tesla, will resume accepting Bitcoin as a payment method for its vehicles on the condition that cryptocurrency miners begin using 50% clean energy.

A few weeks ago, Musk had also taken to Twitter to announce that Tesla will no longer be accepting Bitcoin as a payment method for its cars and claimed that the reason for the decision was the rise of environmental issues due to crypto mining.

This announcement by Elon Musk has sparked a debate as to how exactly the CEO intends to scrutinize and ensure that cryptocurrency miners are indeed making use of clean energy.

Following Elon Musk’s Twitter announcement, the price of Bitcoin has experienced an outstanding uptrend, rising by over 9.66% to $39,200.21 and rubbing off its bullishness on other cryptocurrencies.

Cryptocurrency experts have predicted that Bitcoin’s current bullishness will take it back up into the $50,000 region.
