The CEO of Tesla, ElonMusk, announced via Twitter that the electric automobile company decided to terminate the production process for its Model S Plaid+vehicle, which was meant to be a supercharged version of the company’s already existing Plaid car.

Elon Musk stated that the reason for the decision to stop the production of Plaid+ is that Plaid is good enough and doesn’t need an improved model.

Currently, Tesla claims that the Model S Plaid powertrain is able to go from 0 to 60mph in 1.99 seconds with a top speed of 200 miles per hour and an estimated range of 390 miles.

Tesla’s Plaid also produces 1,020 horsepower and is currently priced at $112,990.

The Model S Plaid+ was meant to be available for commercial use in 2022 and Tesla had opened up a pre-order option for the vehicle at a starting price of $150,000.

Suspicions about the discontinuation of the production of the car began amongst customers in May when Tesla stopped the pre-order process for it. It is believed that Tesla is currently working on a strategy to refund all those who pre-ordered the Model S Plaid+.
