Nigerian payment platform company, Paystack, has gone public about its expansion to South Africa.

News of the company’s expansion to South Africa is coming just a few months after Stripe acquired Paystack for $200 million.

Paystack has launched a South African team to work with local businesses within the nation.

One of Paystack’s Co-founders, Shola Akinlade, said:

“South Africa is one of the continent’s most important markets, and our launch here is a significant milestone in our mission to accelerate commerce across Africa. We’re excited to continue building the financial infrastructure that empowers ambitious businesses in Africa, helps them scale and connects them to global markets.”

Paystack’s expansion to South Africa is also predicted to do plenty of good for the nation’s economy and reduce the rate of unemployment in the country.
